Maybe bypass the gym tonight and call us to try it?

Forget the gym, because sex is the best workout!

What could possibly keep you fit, look after your immune system, and beat the wrinkles? Sex, that’s what. We know that if you want to be better at your job, just have more sex, and now it seems it’s great for our physiques too.

The NHS has dished out advice for those struggling to squeeze a fitness regime into their busy lives (most of us then) and recommended a workout between the sheets is the ideal alternative.

According to the NHS Direct website, ‘sexexercise’ can help to reduce the risk of heart attacks and helps people live longer.

The site explains that endorphins released during orgasm stimulate our immune system cells, which in turn can target illnesses like cancer, as well as combating wrinkles.

One doctor, Melissa Sayer, was sceptical about the advice saying: ‘It’s good to see the NHS are promoting sexual well-being. There is evidence that sex has benefits for mental well-being, but to say there is a link with reduced risk of heart disease and cancer is taking the argument too far.’

However, NHS Direct say that their information is ‘backed by science and clinical evidence’.

The article featured on the medical site states: ‘Forget about jogging around the block or struggling with sit-ups. Sex uses every muscle group, gets the heart and lungs working hard, and burns about 300 calories an hour.’

And if that weren’t enough to convince us all, the article concludes that the increased production of endorphins ‘will make your hair shine and your skin smooth and if you’re worried about wrinkles – orgasms even help prevent frown lines from deepening.’
